About the Role
We are seeking an experienced House Manager to provide holistic oversight of a private HNI/UHNI household. This role serves as the central point of coordination for the home — managing vendors, staff, and operations to ensure every element runs with effortless precision. This is a leadership role suited to someone who has supervised teams within a hotel or private residential setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day household operations across all departments (housekeeping, kitchen, security, drivers, gardening, maintenance)
- Supervise, schedule, and manage performance of household staff, ensuring service standards are consistently met
- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and payments (maintenance, repairs, deliveries, event vendors)
- Oversee household inventories — from pantry and linens to silverware and equipment
- Coordinate and manage logistics for private events, gatherings, and formal entertaining
- Maintain household budgets and expense tracking, reporting to the principal(s) as required
- Act as the primary point of contact between the family and household staff/vendors
- Ensure absolute discretion and confidentiality across all household matters
- Handle emergency situations and troubleshoot operational issues proactively
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a House Manager, Butler, or Butler Supervisor
- Demonstrated experience working within a team of multiple hospitality staff, either in a hotel or private residential setting
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Strong leadership, organizational, and vendor management skills
- Immaculate grooming and professional presentation
- Verifiable references from previous employers
Good-to-Have
- Experience managing household budgets or P&L responsibility
- Proficiency in additional languages beyond English
- Familiarity with household management software/CRM tools
- Valid passport and willingness to travel with the family
- Formal hospitality qualification/certification
- Valid driving license
