Front Desk Associate (Host) – Shalom Backpackers

Locations: Rishikesh, Jaipur, Goa, Udaipur, Mussoorie, McLeodganj, Shimla

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & Community Hosting
  • Welcome guests with warmth and ensure smooth check-ins/check-outs
  • Create a friendly, social, and engaging hostel atmosphere
  • Interact with travelers and help them explore local experiences
  • Handle guest queries, complaints, and requests professionally
  • Ensure high guest satisfaction throughout the stay
Review Generation & Reputation Management
  • Encourage guests to leave positive reviews on platforms like Airbnb, Hostelworld, Booking.com, Google, and MakeMyTrip
  • Achieve monthly review generation targets
  • Maintain strong guest relationships to improve ratings and repeat bookings
  • Monitor guest feedback and report improvement areas
Upselling & Revenue Generation
  • Upsell room upgrades, café items, travel experiences, rentals, events, and activities
  • Achieve monthly upselling and ancillary revenue targets
  • Promote in-house experiences and local tours
  • Increase direct bookings and walk-ins through guest engagement
Front Desk Operations
  • Manage reservations, walk-ins, and OTA bookings
  • Handle cash, billing, invoices, and basic reports
  • Coordinate with central reservation and operations teams
  • Maintain daily reports and occupancy updates
Housekeeping Coordination
  • Supervise room cleaning and dorm readiness
  • Coordinate with housekeeping staff for quick room turnover
  • Ensure cleanliness standards across dorms, rooms, washrooms, and common areas
  • Conduct daily room inspections
Repairs & Maintenance Coordination
  • Identify repair and maintenance issues proactively
  • Coordinate with vendors/maintenance teams for quick resolution
  • Ensure hostel facilities are operational and guest-ready at all times
Skills & Requirements
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English and Hindi
  • Friendly, confident, and guest-oriented personality
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer and OTA/PMS knowledge preferred
  • Passion for travel, hospitality, and community building
  • Experience in hospitality, hostels, hotels, cafés, or customer service is a plus
