Role Overview
We are seeking a Horticulturist with strong softscape expertise to support our landscape design projects—from concept planting compositions to detailed planting documentation and on-site coordination. The ideal candidate has a design-sensitive approach to planting, can produce accurate drawings/BOQs, and can guide execution and maintenance at site.
Key Responsibilities
- Softscape Design & Planting Composition
- Develop planting concepts and softscape design strategies aligned with project design intent.
- Create planting compositions considering form, texture, color, seasonal interest, and site microclimate.
- 3D Visualization & Rendering Support
- Build and integrate softscape elements into 3D models using SketchUp.
- Support design visualization and presentations using Rendering software, such as D5
- Softscape Drawings & Documentation
- Prepare planting plans and softscape drawings in AutoCAD.
- Develop clear plant schedules, legends, and planting details suitable for execution.
- Planting BOQ & Specifications
- Prepare Planting BOQ (Bill of Quantities) with accurate plant sizes, quantities, spacing, and specifications.
- Support material selections and softscape specifications as required.
- Site Coordination & Execution Support
- Coordinate on-site planting activities with contractors/nurseries as needed.
- Conduct site visits to ensure planting is installed as per drawings and specifications.
- Provide maintenance guidance and support in developing practical maintenance recommendations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Horticulture or related field.
- Strong understanding of:
- Plant selection and performance (local climate suitability)
- Planting design principles and composition
- Soil, irrigation basics, and maintenance best practices
Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD (planting plans, schedules, detailing)
- SketchUp (softscape integration in 3D)
- D5 Rendering
- Ability to prepare BOQs with attention to detail and buildability.
- Good communication skills for coordination with internal teams and site stakeholders.
