Horizontal/Line Boring Machinist

-Key Responsibilities

* Set up and operate *manual horizontal boring machines (HBM)* for machining BOP components

* Perform machining operations including:

 * Boring

 * Facing

 * Drilling

 * Line boring of BOP bodies and flanges

* Operate and handle *flywheel cutters* for large diameter facing and machining

* Machine critical components such as:

 * BOP housings

 * DSAF (Double Studded Adapter Flanges)

 * Spools and flanges

* Interpret and work as per *engineering drawings, GA drawings, and machining procedures*

* Ensure machining in compliance with relevant standards such as:

 * API Spec 16A

 * API Spec 6A

* Perform precise alignment and leveling using:

 * Dial indicators

 * Precision levels

* Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and machining parameters

* Manually calculate and adjust:

 * Speeds and feeds

 * Depth of cut

* Conduct in-process and final inspection using:

 * Micrometers

 * Vernier calipers

 * Bore gauges

* Maintain required tolerances and surface finish for pressure-containing components

* Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspection and documentation

* Perform routine maintenance of machines and tooling

* Ensure strict adherence to *safety and quality procedures*

3. Skills & Competency Requirements

* Strong hands-on experience in *manual machining (non-CNC)*

* Expertise in machining *BOP and oilfield equipment components*

* Proven experience using *flywheel cutters for large diameter machining*

* Good understanding of:

 * GD&T and tolerances

 * Fits and clearances for pressure equipment

* Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings

* Skilled in handling heavy jobs using cranes and lifting equipment

### *4. Qualifications*

* ITI / or equivalent technical qualification

* Certification in machining or relevant trade preferred

5. Experience

* Minimum *5–10 years* in manual machining

* At least *3–5 years specific experience in BOP or oilfield equipment machining or normal engineering housings*

* Hands-on experience with *manual horizontal boring machines and flywheel cutters*
