Job Overview
We are seeking a Junior Home Sample Collection professional to join our team in Bangalore. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for collecting patient samples efficiently and safely from their homes. Candidates should possess 1 to 3 years of relevant experience and be adept at delivering empathetic patient care while upholding the standards of Spandana Hospital.
Qualifications and Skills
- Phlebotomy experience for blood sample collection and handling, ensuring accurate and safe specimen management (Mandatory skill)
- Proficient in using mobile health apps for scheduling, communication, and updating patient information in real-time (Mandatory skill)
- Exceptional time management to ensure timely visits and sample deliveries across multiple patient locations (Mandatory skill)
- Strong patient communication skills to explain procedures, reduce anxiety, and deliver compassionate service at home
- Thorough understanding of infection control protocols and hygiene standards during home visits to prevent cross-contamination
- Experience in proper sample collection techniques for various specimen types required for accurate laboratory testing
- Knowledgeable in specimen handling, labeling, and safe transportation to maintain sample integrity and avoid rejections
- Efficient route planning and navigation skills to optimize travel between multiple patient homes and maintain schedules
Roles and Responsibilities
- Visit patients homes to collect blood and other medical samples, following established safety and hygiene protocols
- Use mobile health apps to update patient records, confirm appointments, and communicate with administrative staff in real-time
- Educate patients and families on the sample collection process, addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Ensure accurate labeling, documentation, and safe transport of all specimens to Spandana Hospital laboratories
- Maintain strict infection control and biohazard protocols during every home visit and while handling samples
- Plan and execute optimal routes for timely patient visits and efficient delivery of collected samples
- Report daily status, escalate any collection or patient care concerns, and support continuous improvement in service quality
- Assist with periodic training, compliance with regulatory requirements, and adherence to hospital SOPs for specimen collection
