Main Goal
According to the production plan, oversee, managing, coordinating, developing and improving pollen, seedlings and seed productions in Hiriyur and Ranebennur Home farms for export and domestic markets in greenhouse, net houses and open field to meet company's requirement in terms of quantity, quality, cost and timeliness in a safe environment with the lowest possible environmental impact.
Job Description
Is Accountable of the safety in the Home farms : in connection with HMClause's security policy, defines the security rules within its scope and ensures their compliance daily, through security visits, external audits
Is responsible for the safety management system based on a safety actions plan powered by actions resulting from accidents, near-misses, visits and safety audits
Is accountable of the quality of the pollen and seedlings produced for the home farms and the grower network.
Is accountable of the quality of the seed produces in terms of germination rate, physical purity, sanitary quality and purity according to the HMClause quality chart.
From sowing to seed procurement (including pollen, seedlings productions, where applicable), plan the activities to procure seeds on time.
Considering the base yield, the parental line description, by implementing the agronomic reference practices (fertilization, pest control ...) procure the seed in full in the range of 80 to 120% of the targeted quantities.
Establishes the OPEX and CAPEX plans and ensure that the production costs are effective and in line with budgets.
Build a robust, committed and integrated team in HMClause s RACE principles of action (Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, Entrepreneurship).
Attract and develop talents.
Manage, lead and coordinate staff within the department including assessment, training and development as well as career planning using HR tools.
Establishes and submits the mid-term plant road map (3-5 years) to make the home farms centers of excellence
Launches, follows up and closes the selected projects
Puts in place a continuous improvement program
- based on the control of processes,
- the implementation and monitoring of internal and external complaints and the follow up of the resulting corrective actions,
- through the implementation and monitoring of KPIs
- Strong agronomy/seed production skills required
- Familiarity with production research practices and field techniques is strongly preferred
- Ability to synchronize the needs of the company with the requirements of the internal customer's needs
