Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Department (HOD) - Sports and Physical Education to lead our sports department. The ideal candidate will have expertise in international curricula (IB, IGCSE, ICSE) and a strong background in managing multiple sports disciplines. The HOD will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of excellence in sports and physical education, enhancing student performance, and driving engagement across a variety of sports activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Department Management:
- Lead the Sports and Physical Education department, overseeing curriculum implementation and promoting high standards in sports training and physical education.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the sports curriculum, integrating international standards and best practices.
- Mentor and guide sports coaches and PE instructors, ensuring continuous professional development and performance excellence.
2.Sports Program Development:
- Manage and enhance a wide range of sports activities, including swimming, golf, squash, badminton, shooting, sports wall climbing, basketball, cricket, and equestrian sports.
- Design training programs tailored to individual and team needs, focusing on skill development, physical fitness, and overall sportsmanship.
- Collaborate with the school administration to ensure the provision of necessary facilities, equipment, and resources for all sports activities.
3.Performance Analysis and Monitoring:
- Analyze students performance, track progress, and design targeted interventions to improve skills and competencies.
- Maintain detailed records of student training graphs, performance metrics, and competition results.
- Provide regular feedback to students, coaches, and parents, ensuring transparent communication and consistent improvement.
4.Event Management and Competitions:
- Organize and oversee sports events, tournaments, and inter-school competitions, promoting student participation and engagement.
- Coordinate with external bodies and sports associations for competitive events, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement initiatives to showcase student talents and enhance the school's sports profile.
5.Strategic Planning and Reporting:
- Formulate short-term and long-term plans for the sports department, aligning with the overall goals of the school.
- Prepare detailed reports on student performance, training outcomes, and departmental activities for the school leadership.
- Utilize data-driven insights to refine training programs and improve student athletic performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sports management and physical education, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in handling multiple sports activities and working with international curricula (IB, IGCSE, ICSE).
- Strong knowledge of sports training methodologies, fitness assessments, and performance enhancement techniques.
- Demonstrated success in organizing sports events and competitions at the school or inter-school level.
- Should have dealt PHE classes
