AIMS Institutes invites applications from accomplished academics and technology professionals for the role of Program Manager in the School of Information Technology. This is a senior academic leadership position requiring a strong research pedigree, proven publications record, and a passion for nurturing the next generation of IT professionals.
About The Role
The Program Manager will provide strategic academic leadership to one or more IT programs, overseeing curriculum design, faculty coordination, student outcomes, and research culture. The incumbent will serve as the primary academic point of accountability for the program, working closely with the Dean of the School of IT and cross-functional stakeholders across the institution.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end program management for BCA, MCA programs including curriculum design, revision, and accreditation readiness
- Drive a research-first culture by mentoring faculty and students in publishing in Scopus/WoS-indexed journals and conferences
- Coordinate with industry partners for curriculum alignment, internships, live projects, and guest lecture series
- Oversee timetabling, faculty workload distribution, examination planning, and academic calendar adherence
- Monitor and improve student academic performance, retention, and placement outcomes
- Represent the program in NBA/NAAC documentation, audits, and self-study reports
- Establish and maintain an active research lab or centre of excellence within the school
- Guide capstone projects, dissertations, and interdisciplinary applied research initiatives
- Teach a reduced load of UG/PG courses in areas of specialisation
Mandatory Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline from a recognised university
- Minimum 8 years of post-PhD experience in academia or a combination of academia and industry R&D
- At least 10 publications in peer-reviewed, indexed journals (Scopus / Web of Science); h-index ≥ 5 preferred
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum design at UG or PG level
- Prior administrative or program leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Active funded research projects (SERB, DST, ICMR, or international agencies)
- Experience with NBA / NAAC accreditation processes
- Patents filed or granted in areas of IT innovation
- Industry collaborations, MoUs, or consulting engagements
- Conference organisation or journal editorial board membership
- Familiarity with outcome-based education (OBE) frameworks
Research & publications expectations
Candidates must present a verifiable publication record. Shortlisted applicants will be asked to share their Google Scholar / Scopus profile. Ongoing or pipeline publications in areas such as AI/ML, cloud computing, cybersecurity, data science, IoT, or software engineering are viewed favourably. Evidence of guiding doctoral or post-doctoral researchers is a strong differentiator.
