Role Description The Head of Department (HOD) of Computer Science will lead the academic and operational activities of the Computer Science department at CTPL's partner institution in the Mohali district. This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for curriculum design and review, aligning academic content with current industry and EdTech trends, and ensuring high-quality delivery of computer science programs. The HOD will mentor and guide faculty, oversee lesson planning and assessment methods, and promote the integration of CTPL's digital platforms and solutions into teaching and learning. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with institutional leadership, coordinating with CTPL's technology teams, monitoring student performance and outcomes, and driving departmental research, innovation, and industry collaboration. The HOD will also support accreditation processes, quality assurance, and continuous improvement initiatives while fostering an inclusive, learner-centric environment.
Qualifications
  • Strong academic foundation in Computer Science and Informatics, with the ability to guide curriculum development and maintain academic rigor.
  • Proficiency in Programming and Software Development, with hands-on experience in modern languages, tools, and development practices.
  • Excellent Communication skills for effective interaction with students, faculty, industry partners, and institutional leadership.
  • Proven leadership experience in an academic or training context, including faculty mentoring, team management, and strategic planning.
  • Postgraduate degree (Master's or PhD) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field; relevant certifications are an advantage.
  • Experience with EdTech platforms, digital learning tools, and technology-enabled pedagogy is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to design outcome-based curricula, assessment frameworks, and industry-aligned academic programs.
  • Commitment to inclusive education, student success, and continuous professional development.
