Description The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled HL7 Integrations Expert with deep expertise in the Iguana integration engine to join our remote technical team.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in designing, implementing, and supporting healthcare data integrations using HL7 standards and Iguanas Lua scripting capabilities.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, an understanding of healthcare workflows, and the ability to work in a client-facing capacity during non-standard shifts.
Key Responsibilities Interface Development And Maintenance
- Design, develop, configure, and deploy HL7 interfaces (ADT, ORM, ORU, SIU, DFT, etc.) using Iguana Integration Suite.
- Implement custom transformations and data mapping using Lua scripting within Iguana channels.
- Perform real-time integration with EMRs, EHRs, LIS, RIS, HIS, and other healthcare Integration and Workflow Automation :
- Analyze integration requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications.
- Develop secure, scalable, and efficient solutions for healthcare data exchange.
- Build automated processes for error handling, message validation, and exception Troubleshooting, and Support :
- Conduct unit testing, system testing, and end-to-end integration validation.
- Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Provide support during go-live and post-implementation and Documentation :
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, analysts, and healthcare IT staff.
- Prepare technical documentation, interface diagrams, and operational manuals.
- Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions to continuously improve integration Skills and Qualifications Expertise :
- 4-5+ years of experience in healthcare integration projects.
- Strong proficiency in HL7 v2.x messaging standards; familiarity with FHIR is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Iguana Integration Suite including channel creation, configuration, and deployment.
- Proficiency in Lua scripting for data transformations and Domain Knowledge :
- Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, patient data flows, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, PHI).
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and hospital information Skills :
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, client-facing Skills (Good to Have) :
- Exposure to APIs, REST/JSON, XML, and SOAP integrations.
- Experience with other integration engines (e.g., Mirth Connect, Rhapsody).
- Knowledge of databases (SQL Server, MySQL) for backend data handling
