Job Role: History & Global Perspectives Teacher (International Curriculum)

Job Overview
The primary objective is to deliver the Cambridge IGCSE History and IB Diploma History (SL/HL) curricula while simultaneously leading the IGCSE Global Perspectives course. The role emphasizes thinking like a historianusing evidence, empathy, and multi-perspectivityto understand both the past and the present.
Key Responsibilities
History Curriculum Delivery: Train students to evaluate sources for Origin, Purpose, and Content (OPC), identifying bias and propaganda for IGCSE & IBDP Level.
Global Perspectives Leadership
- Cross-Curricular Skills: Teach students to deconstruct complex global arguments regarding climate change, human rights, or digital cultures.
- Component Management: Oversee the three main assessment pillars:
- Individual Report: A 1,500-word research essay on a global issue.
- Team Project: A collaborative effort to solve a local problem with a global trigger.
- Written Examination: Focusing on analysis, evaluation, and reflection.
Supervision of Independent Research
- History Internal Assessment (IA): Guide IB students through historical investigation, focusing on rigorous referencing and critical reflection.
- Extended Essay (EE): Mentor students for research papers in History or World Studies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in History, International Relations, or Political Science.
- Evidence of Category 1 or 2 workshops for IBDP History and/or IGCSE Global Perspectives.
- Ability to teach the nuances of historiography (comparing different schools of historical thought).
