About the Role
We are looking for a Historical Editor (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on history, historical research, fact-checking, content editing, cultural context, and academic accuracy.
In this role, you will work with AI-generated outputs related to world history, regional history, historical events, civilizations, biographies, historical analysis, and educational content, helping improve how AI models understand and generate accurate historical information.
Your expertise will contribute to improving AI systems used for education, research assistance, content generation, knowledge platforms, and humanities-focused applications.
Responsibilities
- Create deliverables addressing common requests within your professional domain
- Annotate and evaluate AI-generated historical content, analyses, and educational materials
- Review peer-developed deliverables to improve AI research quality and consistency
- Assess AI outputs for historical accuracy, factual consistency, contextual relevance, editorial quality, and source reliability
- Identify factual inaccuracies, chronological errors, misleading interpretations, contextual gaps, or editorial issues in AI-generated content and provide structured feedback
- Support workflows involving historical research, content editing, fact-checking, academic review, and educational resource development
- Contribute domain expertise to improve AI systems focused on historical knowledge and cultural understanding
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in History, Archaeology, Historical Studies, Humanities, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field
- Strong understanding of historical research methods, source evaluation, and historical analysis
- Experience in editing, publishing, academic research, teaching, journalism, content creation, or historical writing is preferred
- Ability to assess historical content for accuracy, context, objectivity, and clarity
- Familiarity with world history, regional history, historical movements, and major historical events
- Strong research, writing, analytical thinking, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
