About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Historical Editor to join our expert freelance network and work on impactful AI and research-driven projects. In this role, you will help shape high-quality historical content used in educational datasets, knowledge systems, and next-generation AI models. Your expertise will play a key role in ensuring historical information is accurate, engaging, and contextually rich.
You will collaborate with researchers, content specialists, and AI teams to review, refine, and elevate historical material spanning global events, civilizations, biographies, timelines, and archival references. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals passionate about history, storytelling, and knowledge accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit and enhance historical documents, articles, essays, and research-based content for clarity, structure, and readability.
- Verify dates, events, figures, and sources to ensure factual accuracy and historical authenticity.
- Review AI-generated historical content and improve it for precision, neutrality, and depth.
- Collaborate with historians, researchers, and editorial teams to strengthen content quality.
- Maintain consistency in tone, style, formatting, and historical terminology.
- Curate content related to world history, political movements, cultural developments, and major historical milestones.
- Identify gaps, biases, or inaccuracies and recommend improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in historical editing, academic research, publishing, or related fields.
- Strong command of historical research methods, source validation, and fact-checking.
- Excellent editing, proofreading, and written communication skills.
- Broad knowledge of world history, civilizations, geopolitics, and significant historical events.
- Ability to work independently while meeting quality and timeline expectations.
- Prior experience with educational content, academic journals, or digital publishing is a plus.
