Job Description

Socratute is an online learning platform for Grades K–12; this role is Grades 4–8. We teach for understanding, not answers — a good Socratute tutor asks the next question instead of handing over the solution.

We're hiring 3 part-time contract tutors (2 Math, 1 Science) to teach small online groups of school students.

What you'll do

Teach live classes, 1-on-1 and in small groups of 3–4. Build real conceptual foundations, find where a student's understanding actually breaks, and give parents honest progress feedback. We provide the concept sequence and practice sets; you bring the teaching.

We're looking for

2+ years teaching or tutoring Grades 4–8, CBSE (ICSE/IB a plus)
Strong subject depth — degree in Math, Science, Engineering or Education preferred; B.Ed a plus, not a requirement
Clear, confident spoken English
Able to re-explain a concept three different ways when the first two don't land
Reliable laptop, webcam and stable internet

Hours

6–10 hours/week to begin; weekday evenings 4:30–9:30pm IST and Saturday mornings. Paid monthly by the 5th, bank transfer or UPI. Onboarding is rolling — we bring tutors on as cohorts fill.

Strong tutors will also get paid work on practice-content development, and first claim on academic-lead roles as we grow.

Science applicants: Explain to a Grade 6 student why we see lightning before we hear thunder.

A phone camera is completely fine — we're watching how you explain, not production quality. Please keep it under 3 minutes; teach, don't introduce yourself.
