About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead HIL Rig Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Model-Based Plant Model creation, hands on in HIL harness creation and debugging and HIL testing using dSPACE platforms. This role involves working in an international team environment and contributing to the development of modular plant models for ECU validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multiple system engineers to understand to understand validation requirements and day to day updates.
- Parts and connectors BOM creation and procurement with JLR internal teams.
- Understand system level validation requirements and enable HIL rig for the same.
- Create and debug HIL harness for multi-ecu system level rig involving IO/CAN/LIN/Automotive Ethernets networks.
- Develop and build Plant Models for Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test benches.
- Create Control desk layout to support testing with dynamic objects.
- Configure dSPACE model with configuration desk for simulation, monitoring and inspection for IO/CAN/LIN/Auto Ethernet.
- Support and utilize Test Automation Tools (Automation Desk, Python-based automation).
- Perform network simulation and ECU communication testing using Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer).
- Supporting sample test cases execution on System HIL rig to confirm feature readiness on rig.
- Mentor other HIL rig engineers and testing team.
- Work effectively in an international team environment.
Required Skills & Experience
- Automotive Domain HIL testing expertise: 7–10 years of experience.
- Plant Model Development: Strong experience in modular plant model architecture for HIL systems using MATLAB and Simulink.
- Good experience on working HIL IO and communication protocols like CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet.
- Hands on experience on working on rig harness creation and debugging.
- Good experience with configuration desk for simulation, monitoring and inspection for IO/CAN/LIN/Auto Ethernet.
- Good experience with HIL test case execution and triaging.
- Programming Languages: m-script, Python.

- Vector Tools: CANoe, CANalyzer, dSPACE Tools: Automation Desk, Control Desk and Configuration Desk.
