The ICCT is seeking an intern to join our office in New Delhi to support the transition of the heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) sector to zero-emission technologies in India. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in transportation policy research at a leading nonprofit organization.
You Will
- Contribute to research analysing the total cost of ownership (TCO) of zero-emission truck technologies compared to conventional diesel vehicles in the Indian market
- Support analysis of India's HDV regulatory landscape, freight decarbonization policies, and national and state-level incentives for zero-emission trucks
- Assist in tracking and evaluating the deployment of zero-emission HDVs across key freight corridors and fleet operators in India
- Support the development of data-driven briefs and reports
- Contribute to stakeholder engagement activities, including preparation of presentations and summaries for government, industry, and civil society audiences
- Deliver ad-hoc tasks as needed
You Have
- Completed or pursuing a Master's degree in electric vehicle technology, electrical or mechanical engineering, transport planning, energy systems, public policy, environmental sciences, economics, or a related discipline
- Familiarity with zero-emission vehicle technologies and policies is preferred
- Experience with TCO modelling or emissions analysis is a plus
- Excellent research, analytical, and quantitative skills, along with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with data using statistical tools or languages such as Python or Excel
- Microsoft Office proficiency
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to work 4-5 days per week (ideally 32-40 hours per week) with a duration of 3 months
