Heat Exchanger Specialist

Independently responsible for the design, specification, selection, and services related to Shell & Tube heat exchangers, Air Coolers, Reboilers, and other heat transfer equipment. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers while performing all conventional aspects of the functional area with minimal guidance. The role requires effective communication with management, clients, vendors, contractors, and coworkers, as well as the willingness to travel globally to support projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop design, specification, selection, and technical services for heat exchangers including Shell & Tube, Air Coolers, Reboilers, Plate, and Multitube exchangers.
• Perform thermal-hydraulic design calculations and analysis of new and existing heat exchangers using HTRI to evaluate performance.
• Carry out basic mechanical design calculations using PV Elite to prepare thermal datasheets, including setting plans and tube layouts.
• Prepare datasheets and requisitions, perform technical bid evaluations, review vendor documents, and provide inspection support.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
• Communicate effectively with management, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Travel globally for short-term assignments at other KBR offices, client offices, or project sites as needed.
• Ensure compliance with major industry codes and standards (e.g., TEMA, ASME, API) applicable to pressure equipment.
