Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide self-management training and education to type 1, type 2, and gestational diabetic patients. Education includes but is not limited to, signs/symptoms, and respective treatments for hyper glycaemia and hypoglycemia.
- Provide nutritional counselling for diabetes management.
- Converting free trial patients into paid patients and open to new roles.
- Deliver patient education as needed or as directed by the Provider.
- Perform assessments and data collections, establishes outcome criteria; obtains, reviews, and analyses information in collaboration with patients, family members, and health care team members.
- Attend outreach activities such as health fairs for diabetes screening and health education.
- Monitor and evaluate short and long-term patient responses to therapeutic interventions in collaboration with providers; provides and maintains necessary follow-up for patients and families.
- Educate and follow patients with diabetes for the control of blood sugar, lipids, renal function, and prevention of diabetes complications.
- Instruct patients and family members on how to administer insulin, self-monitor blood glucose, and medication education.
- Responsible for introducing the BeatO Brand to diabetic patients.
Skills & Experience:
- Should have a degree in B.Sc. (Home Science/Dietetics/Food & Nutrition) and Masters in Dietetics/Food & Nutrition.
- Current understanding of industry requirements, processes, and procedures for Dieticians and Diabetes Educators.
- Language Proficiency - Must have good written and oral English Language communication.
- Experience in patient education and counselling.
