Job Description

Job Title: Health and Safety Executive

Location: Mumbai-based Healthcare Facilities

Employment Type: Contractual

Role Overview

The Executive is responsible for overseeing pest control, disinfection protocols, and environmental hygiene across the business segment. The role ensures strict compliance with infection prevention standards, minimizes contamination risks, and maintains a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors of a given business facility.

Key Responsibilities

1.    Pest Management Oversight

·      Develop and implement an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program for the business segment (hospital, clinic, factories, pharma units)

·      Monitor pest control activities conducted by internal teams or external vendors

·      Conduct routine inspections of high-risk areas (ICUs, kitchens, waste zones, storage areas)

·      Identify infestation risks and implement preventive and corrective actions

·      Ensure safe and compliant use of pesticides within contracted environments

2.    Disinfection & Hygiene Management

·      Establish and supervise IPM, cleaning and disinfection protocols across departments

·      Ensure proper use of disinfectants, sanitizers, and fumigation practices

·      Validate cleaning effectiveness using audits, ATP testing, or microbiological methods

·      Oversee terminal cleaning, outbreak response disinfection, and high-touch surface sanitation

·      Ensure compliance with infection control standards and hospital policies

3.    Infection Control & Compliance

·      Work closely with the Infection Control Committee (ICC) and clinical teams

·      Ensure adherence to NABH, JCI, WHO, and local regulatory guidelines

·      Conduct environmental hygiene audits and risk assessments

·      Maintain documentation for inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance

·      Support hospital/medical/pharma facility accreditation and external audits

4.    Vendor Operations Management

·      Manage pest control teams in lines with SLA monitoring

·      Review service reports, chemical usage logs, and safety documentation

·      Ensure staff training in hygiene protocols and chemical safety and use

·      Optimize schedules for pest control and disinfection activities

5.    Reporting & Documentation

·      Prepare detailed reports on pest activity trends, disinfection efficacy, and compliance status

·      Maintain records of incidents, corrective actions, and preventive measures

·      Analyse data to identify recurring risks and improvement opportunities

·      Present findings to hospital management and infection control committees

Required Qualifications

·      Last year students of Bachelor's degree in Public Health / Environmental Health / Microbiology / Life Sciences / Hospital Administration

·      Certification in Infection Control (preferred) or Hospital Hygiene Management

Experience

·      1+ years in hospital hygiene, infection control, pest management, or environmental health

·      Experience in NABH/JCI accredited hospitals preferred

Key Skills

·      Strong knowledge of hospital infection control practices

·      Understanding of pest control in sensitive environments

·      Familiarity with disinfectants, biocides, and safety protocols

·      Audit and compliance management

·      Team management and coordination

·      Data analysis and report writing

Work Environment

·      Hospital setting with exposure to clinical and non-clinical areas

·      Requires coordination across departments and occasional emergency response (e.g., outbreaks)

Other Requirements

·      High attention to detail and hygiene standards

·      Ability to handle sensitive hospital environments

·      Strong communication and training capability
