Job Description

Role Overview

The Sales Head will be responsible for leading the company's sales strategy, driving revenue growth, strengthening existing customer relationships, developing new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and building a structured, process-driven sales organization.

The role requires a person who can work closely with management, sales team, proposal team and customers to generate quality inquiries, improve conversion ratio, build long-term customer relationships and create sustainable business growth

Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
  • Develop and execute the overall sales strategy for business growth.
  • Achieve annual, quarterly and monthly sales targets.
  • Identify growth opportunities across existing customers, new customers, new industries and new geographies.
  • Build a strong sales pipeline for panels, automation, PLC/DCS, control systems and turnkey industrial solutions.
  • Drive business growth from both existing accounts and new customer acquisition.
Key Account Management
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with key customers, EPCs, consultants, OEMs and end users.
  • Build long-term engagement plans for existing customers.
  • Identify repeat business, upcoming projects and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Ensure regular customer visits, follow-ups and relationship-building activities.
New Business Development
  • Identify and develop new customers across target industries.
  • Generate qualified leads, inquiries and project opportunities.
  • Develop strategies for entering new industries and applications.
  • Coordinate vendor registration and approval activities with large customers, consultants and EPCs.
Sales Team Leadership
  • Lead, guide and monitor the sales team.
  • Set clear targets for sales team members.
  • Review sales activities, customer visits, follow-ups, inquiry generation and conversion.
  • Build discipline in CRM, MIS, follow-up process and reporting.
  • Train and mentor team members to improve customer handling and sales effectiveness.
Proposal & Internal Coordination
  • Coordinate with proposal, engineering, project, purchase and management teams for timely offer submission.
  • Ensure important inquiries are prioritized and followed up properly.
  • Support the proposal team in understanding customer requirements, competition, commercial strategy and negotiation approach.
  • Review major offers, commercial terms and negotiation strategies.
Sales Process & MIS
  • Maintain structured sales pipeline, inquiry tracker and opportunity funnel.
  • Monitor inquiry-to-offer and offer-to-order conversion ratios.
  • Review lost orders and identify improvement areas.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports for management.
  • Ensure timely customer follow-ups and closure of pending actions.
Negotiation & Order Closure
  • Lead important commercial negotiations with customers.
  • Support finalization of price, payment terms, delivery terms and commercial conditions.
  • Coordinate internally for smooth order handover after PO receipt.
  • Ensure proper communication between sales and execution teams

Qualifications

Graduate / Engineer / MBA with strong experience in B2B industrial sales.

Preferred background: Electrical panels, automation, PLC/DCS, control systems, instrumentation, industrial projects, EPC sales, OEM sales or engineering solutions.

8–15+ years of experience in sales/business development, preferably with team leadership experience.

Strong network with industrial customers, consultants, EPCs, OEMs or process industries will be preferred.

Proven ability to achieve sales targets and generate new business.

Strong commercial understanding and negotiation skills.

Good leadership, communication and customer relationship skills.

Ability to work with management and build a structured sales process.

Comfortable with CRM, Excel, MIS and sales reporting
