  • Safety Strategy & Governance
  • Define and deploy organizationwide safety vision, policies, and objectives
  • Establish safety management systems (SMS) aligned with statutory and international standards
  • Act as the ultimate authority on safety decisionmaking and escalation
  • Ensure full compliance with:
    • Factories Act
    • Building & Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act
    • State & Central labor safety rules
    • Environment Protection Acts (as applicable)
  • Liaise with government authorities and inspectors during audits, inquiries, and approvals
  • Ensure statutory licenses, permits, and returns are valid and up to date
  • Lead Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA)
  • Implement effective:
    • Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
    • Permit to Work (PTW) systems
    • Method statement reviews
  • Ensure elimination, mitigation, and control of workplace hazards
  • Oversee reporting, investigation, and rootcause analysis of:
    • Accidents
    • Near misses
    • Dangerous occurrences
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Lead crisis response during major incidents
  • Design and deploy:
    • Safety induction programs
    • Specialized training (working at height, confined space, LOTO, lifting, hot work, etc.)
  • Build a behaviorbased safety (BBS) culture across all levels
  • Promote safety leadership among senior management and line supervisors
  • Ensure contractor safety management systems are aligned with company standards
  • Review contractor HSE plans, manpower competence, and site controls
  • Monitor highrisk construction and operational activities
  • Conduct internal and thirdparty safety audits and inspections
  • Track and report key safety KPIs to leadership and board
  • Benchmark best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Lead and mentor safety managers, officers, and site teams
  • Define roles, accountability, and competency development plans
  • Build strong coordination with Projects, Operations, HR, and Engineering
  • BE / BTech (Engineering discipline) or Science Graduate
  • PG Diploma / Master's in Industrial Safety / EHS / Occupational Health & Safety
  • Certifications preferred:
    • NEBOSH
    • ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
    • OSHA (added advantage)
Qualifications

  • 1525 years of experience in industrial / project safety
  • Minimum 58 years in a senior or leadership safety role
  • Experience managing multisite or large project safety
