Job Purpose

To build a best-in-class supply chain for Hindalco - Aluminum business, Mining Operation (Coal alongwith Bauxite Mining), Red Mud operation, DAP business & operation, Chemical business along with all Raw Material movement and businessthat is scalable, sustainable and robust with regards to external and internal uncertainties and augments the business capability to achieve its business and growth targets with optimal costs and investments. To secure Hindalco Sustainable towards Green Environment ensuring pollution control, project establishment towards zero carbon emission in near future establishing projects like - Green Logistics, Electric Vehicles introduce into business. Projects of Ekaayan Drive to centralize the data of across Hindalco at one point to ensure efficient and real time, error free operation run digitally. Ensuring Cost optimization is the key to the profit by using best alternatives in all possible aspects By Ensuring Logistics cost increase in efficiency in movement of Export consignment via all Sea ports, Monitor and ensure that total Logistics cost do not exceed P & B. Ensure Safety across Hindalco Location, Transit material & till destination. Value addition to existing Business by continuous market research, Contracts, negotiation, evaluation of existing service provider. Development of Analytics and Reports. Implementation of new ERP. Evaluate Block-chain application for Road Logistics and facilitate the application in Shipping vertical.

Safety

1. Prevent injury to drivers & loss of goods due to accidents by over speeding and rash driving
2. Set speed limits
3. Safety compliance of the pressurized vehicles for carriage of Alumina and Fly Ash.

Ensure compliance of safety norms and use of PPEs by logistics operators at plants, mines and warehouses

Sustainability

1. Create an environment and awareness towards risk management in logistics function
2. Set up a system to track and report Scope III carbon emissions for all logistics movement.
3. Focus on evacuation of waste from plants - Red Mud & Fly Ash.

Critically examine the mode mix to ensure that the more environment friendly option be chosen for the operation.

1. Introduction of Green Logistics.

Customer Centricity

1. Building the framework for return and smalls logistics
2. Ensure GPS implementation
3. Ensure placement of vehicles as per number and schedule

Cash & Cost

1. Setting the rules for contractual obligations as pre-contracting RFQ document & setting the rules for negotiation and price discovery
2. Target freight determination basis ZBC, trend or freight index
3. Evaluation of vendors
4. Formalize an identified and qualified pool of service providers at each sector/business/ product category for effective competition
5. Formulating and implementing uniform diesel price variation clause across business
6. Freight negotiation / adherence to budget
7. Using e-auction as a process for price discovery wherever feasible
8. Build the framework for returns & smalls logistics
9. Preparation of Revenue Proposals for proposed spend and compliance adherence

System -Ekaayan

1. Facilitate roll out of Oracle Transportation Management System across all units
2. Identify modules from existing TMS that can dovetailed into OTM

Overall execution of Bangladesh orders

1. Coordination with Marketing for lot-wise order in advance.
2. Unit-wise truck planning.
3. Ensuring timely placement of trucks at Renukoot, Mahan and Aditya for Petrapole border.
4. Ensure timely negotiation of Bank Documents.
5. Completion of CHA formalities as per the deadline.
6. Monitoring Lot wise stock at Petrapole.
7. Release of trucks from Petrapole Warehouse to Kalitala /CWC warehouse.
8. Ensuring timely Export from CWC parking as per Marketing schedule.
9. Ensuring checking and timely processing of bills at all the three units.
10. Safe and proper handling of material at Petrapole warehouse.
11. Execution of Bidding and negotiation in time bound manner every year. Performance monitoring of service provider on regular basis.

Inward logistics of import, Raw Material /Engineering material/parts

1. Facilitating and ensuring safe and timely delivery of Import material from Kolkata port/CFA warehouse to respective units.
2. Engagement of trucks as per SOB and product-wise performance of the transporter.
3. Ensure timely movement of Raw material for Renukoot Cluster/Silvassa/Alupuram/Kuppam unit

Outward Logistics of Finished Goods

1. Provide support from Corporate Logistics to all unit outbound team for timely execution of Marketing order.
2. Corporate Logistics support during outbound bidding and rate negotiation.
3. Support to pan India plants on RFQ for Outbound and capability assessment of the bidders.

Port Operation

1. Coordination with CFA/CHA and Port authorities in coordination with the import/Plant/Corporate procurement team.
2. Timely and safe loading at port/CFA godown.

Coal Road movement to maintain safe stock at all Hindalco units.

1. To ensure selection of Quality Vendors.
2. To monitor daily coal movement pan India.
3. Regular monitoring of sock level.
4. Ensure quality of coal as per the booking.
5. Support in strategic decision in coal booking.

Key role for Road Logistics finalisation for any new Units and selection of manpower.

1. Selection of quality manpower for new plant Logistics.
2. People development and training.
3. Take lead role in stablishing Logistic operation for any new business/Units
