About the Role
This role will act as a strategic partner to business leadership, driving quality as a competitive advantage while scaling operations across geographies.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Quality Leadership
- Define and drive the enterprise-wide Quality roadmap aligned with growth plans
- Position Quality as a business enabler vs. control function
- Partner with R&D, Production, and Commercial teams to improve product performance
- Seed Quality Excellence
- Ensure best-in-class standards in:
- Genetic purity
- Germination and vigor
- Physical purity and seed health
- Drive consistency across hybrid and varietal portfolios
- Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Anchor compliance with national seed regulations and certification bodies
- Lead external and internal audits; ensure zero critical non-compliance
- Build robust traceability systems across the seed lifecycle
- Field-to-Factory Quality Integration
- Strengthen field quality systems including grower management, crop monitoring, and inspections
- Integrate field learnings into processing, storage, and distribution practices
- Drive first-time-right production philosophy
- Labs & Technology Enablement
- Modernize seed testing laboratories with advanced techniques (e.g., molecular diagnostics)
- Leverage data analytics for predictive quality and early risk identification
- Customer-Centric Quality
- Establish strong mechanisms to capture and act on farmer feedback and field performance data
- Lead resolution of critical complaints with structured RCA and CAPA frameworks
- Improve brand trust through consistent product performance
- Continuous Improvement & Cost of Quality
- Drive operational excellence initiatives (Lean / Six Sigma)
- Reduce cost of poor quality, rejections, and field failures
- Benchmark against global agribusiness quality standards
- Leadership & Capability Building
- Build and scale a multi-location quality organization
- Develop second-line leadership and technical capabilities
- Foster a culture of quality ownership across functions
Qualifications
- Experience: 18–25 years in Seeds / Agribusiness
- Proven leadership experience: in heading Quality or Seed Production functions
- Strong exposure: to hybrid seeds (corn, cotton, rice, vegetables, etc.)
Required Skills
- Deep understanding of seed lifecycle & agronomy practices
- Strong grasp of regulatory frameworks & certification systems
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Data-driven decision-making with strong analytical capability
- High field-connect with strategic orientation
Preferred Skills
- M.Sc / PhD in Agriculture / Seed Science / Genetics / Agronomy
- Advanced certifications in Quality or Operations (preferred)
