Cairn Oil & Gas is the largest private oil and gas exploration and production company in India, accounting for more than a quarter of India's domestic crude oil production. At Cairn, we are committed to playing a lead role in the energy security of the country and geared up towards contributing half of India's crude production. In this context, we are looking for a dynamic leader for the role of Head PE and Opex.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Well Intervention Management: Identify candidate wells, plan and execute intervention jobs with economic justification, and perform postjob evaluations to enhance production and maintain well integrity.
  • Well Performance Optimization: Monitor well and reservoir performance through surveillance and nodal analysis; recommend optimization initiatives including artificial lift tuning and recompletions to maximize recovery and asset uptime.
  • Technology & Continuous Improvement: Assess and implement new technologies in production enhancement, surveillance, and digital monitoring while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • HSE Compliance: Ensure all petroleum engineering activities adhere to HSE standards; participate in audits and drive closure of nonconformances to maintain safe, incidentfree operations.
  • Planning & Budgeting: Manage annual Petroleum Engineering OPEX, enforce cost discipline, and lead initiatives to reduce lifting costs, optimize resources, and enhance contractor efficiency to support longterm asset profitability.
  • CrossFunctional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, maintenance, finance, and HSE teams to ensure smooth execution of engineering programs and support production continuity.
  • Stakeholder & Partner Management: Build strong relationships with JV partners and service providers; present technical updates, justify intervention programs, and align on costoptimization initiatives to meet asset performance goals.
  • SelfDevelopment: Continuously enhance technical expertise in reservoir management, intervention technologies, and production optimization to stay aligned with evolving industry practices.

Qualification Criteria:

Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering with 15+ years of overall experience in E&P industry, including strong exposure to production operations, reservoir management, and well interventions.
