Job Description

Position Purpose

The Head P&O Policies and Risks is responsible for establishing, governing, and continuously strengthening the global P&O policy framework, P&O risk management approach, P&O internal control environment, and P&O crisis and business continuity readiness. It serves as a strategic partner to P&O by providing oversight, guidance, and assurance on people policies, risk mitigation, and operational resilience, including effective collaboration with related enterprise-wide corporate functions.

Your Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to

  • Leadership, Stakeholder Engagement & Continuous Improvement: Provide leadership, frameworks, and decision‑making support to the P&O function on policies & guidelines, controls and risk‑related topics, initiatives, and projects. Ensure accessible communication of policies, risk & resilience, controls expectations, supported by training and learning opportunities. Drive a culture of collaboration, compliance ownership, risk awareness and effective management across the P&O community to ensure audit readiness. Monitor regulatory and organizational changes and ensure timely updates to frameworks and processes. Provide regular management reporting on the P&O policies & guidelines, risk & resilience, controls KPIs and progress status.
  • P&O Policy Governance: Own and maintain the global P&O policies & guidelines framework, ensuring alignment with legal and compliance requirements and enterprise expectations. Advise P&O policy owners on standards, requirements, and best practices in policy development and maintenance, ensuring global consistency and compliance. Oversee policy approvals, publishing, communication, and maintenance of changes track. Partner with Legal & Compliance, and business leaders to ensure P&O policies & guidelines consistency across the enterprise approach.
  • P&O Risk Management: Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of P&O risks annual cycle in collaboration with the Enterprise Risk Management team. Maintain the P&O risk register and ensure alignment with the broader Enterprise Risk Management approach. Support P&O teams in identifying, analysing, evaluating, and mitigating risks, including monitoring emerging risks. Conduct risk assessments, scenario analyses, and support in internal and external audits as necessary. Promote a proactive risk management culture throughout broader P&O to ensure audit readiness.
  • Internal Controls: Manage and continuously improve the P&O internal controls framework in collaboration with Internal Controls team and relevant P&O stakeholders. Ensure the necessary risk-based controls are designed and embedded into the processes. Monitor the ongoing review of controls testing cycle and controls effectiveness status and ensure relevant reporting to P&O stakeholders.
  • Crisis Management & Business Continuity: Lead P&O crisis management and business continuity efforts in line with Enterprise Business Continuity and Crisis Management approach. Act as the global P&O contact point with Corporate Security, Legal, and Crisis Management teams. Coordinate and provide necessary guidance to the country crisis teams from the global P&O. Ensure readiness for operational disruptions through development, testing, and continuous enhancement of P&O business continuity plans. Capture lessons learned from incidents and incorporated them into improved resilience and control processes.
  • Any other accountability as assigned by direct manager.

What You'll Bring To The Role

  • Master's degree or adequate equivalent in law, compliance, risk management, audit, human resources or related discipline required. Project management certification, relevant Audit Qualifications desirable. 10+ years of relevant work experience, partnering with leadership teams.
  • Working with executive leadership teams in multinational companies. Designing and implementing frameworks and operating models. Experience defining and establishing policies & guidelines requirements for a global company. Audit, compliance, quality assurance, risk management, internal controls experience, ideally with exposure to P&O, payroll areas.
  • Demonstrated understanding of P&O processes and compliance standards. Desirable experience with different P&O systems. Crisis and Business continuity management experience. People management and team leadership experience
  • Ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders to create joint value. Comfort independently operating in complex, matrixed, geographically dispersed, evolving and multinational environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills High integrity, sound judgment, and a strong ethical compass. Ability to simplify complex topics and proactively drive practical implementation globally for continuous improvement. Exceptional analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities
