Role Description The Head of Unit is a full-time leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the manufacturing unit in Jammu, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows some tasks to be performed from home. This role includes planning and supervising production activities, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, and managing workflows for extrusion blow molding, pharmaceutical container manufacturing, and injection molding. The Head of Unit will coordinate cross-functional teams, monitor performance metrics, optimize resource utilization, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role also involves collaborating with senior management on planning, reporting, and strategic decision-making, while maintaining strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience supervising production or operations staff in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as extrusion blow molding, injection molding, and pharmaceutical container production, including basic understanding of machinery and workflow optimization.
- Experience with quality assurance, safety standards, and compliance in industrial or pharmaceutical-related manufacturing settings.
- Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and resource management, including the ability to monitor KPIs and implement process improvements.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, industrial management, or a related field; relevant technical or management certifications are an advantage.
- Comfort with hybrid work arrangements, including use of digital tools for reporting, coordination, and documentation.
- Prior experience in a unit head, plant manager, or similar leadership role in manufacturing is preferred.
