Head of Trading Technology - Elite Proprietary HFT Firm (Singapore Based)

Location: Singapore (Full-time, On-site)

Salary: Base (Negotiable for top-tier talent) + Highly Competitive Performance Bonus

Our client is a highly successful, Singapore-native proprietary trading firm specializing in fully automated, high-frequency on-chain trading. Founded by local industry veterans and backed by a highly international team of elite professionals from the US, Europe, and across Asia, they operate a lean, high-output team.

Every component of their trading ecosystem-from order management systems (OMS) and execution algos to low-latency connectivity-is engineered entirely in-house. While historically rooted as an institutional liquidity provider and market maker in the DeFi space, they are aggressively scaling into a highly lucrative frontier: trading perpetual products tied to Real-World Assets (RWA) like equities, commodities, and ETFs against crypto on major exchanges.

They are heavily capitalized, exceptionally mature in the digital asset architecture space, and are actively hiring elite talent out of Traditional Finance (TradFi) to lead the bridge between legacy markets and modern on-chain infrastructure.

The Role

We are seeking an exceptional Head of Trading Technology to lead the core platform engineering team responsible for architecting and building their next-generation, low-latency trading infrastructure.

This is a high-impact, hands-on technical leadership position. You will own the end-to-end delivery of high-performance trading systems, directly managing and mentoring a team of elite software engineers, DevOps, and architects. You will remain actively involved in high-level design, code reviews, and deep performance optimization, while guiding the team to redesign internal workflows and tooling to be AI-native.



Core Responsibilities

  • Own End-to-End Architecture: Lead the greenfield design and implementation of a next-generation, ultra-low-latency trading platform tailored to handle both on-chain and off-chain market complexities.
  • Hands-on Technical Leadership: Lead by example. Write and review critical code (C++/Rust), establish engineering best practices, and personally dive deep to resolve complex performance and microsecond latency bottlenecks.
  • Team Growth & Mentoring: Manage, scale, and inspire a highly capable team of 20+ engineers. Provide direct technical guidance and structured mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.
  • In-House Stack Management: Maintain total oversight of the entire engineering infrastructure (from market data ingestion layers to real-time risk management and order execution systems).
  • AI-Native Evolution: Champion modern software development by driving workflows, internal tooling, and delivery pipelines to lean heavily into AI-native processes.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate daily on the trading floor with traders, quants, and management to ensure custom-built systems perfectly capture evolving quantitative strategies.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, with a minimum of 5 years in an engineering leadership capacity (Lead, Head of, or Director level) within a quantitative trading environment.
  • Proven Low-Latency Background: A strong track record of designing, building, or deeply optimizing high-performance matching engines or trading infrastructure in Tier-1 TradFi HFT spaces (Equities, Futures, Commodities, Options) or elite crypto environments.
  • Production-Level C++ or Rust Expertise: Exceptional, current hands-on programming skills in high-performance, memory-managed languages where microsecond efficiency is paramount.
  • Delivery-Obsessed: Proven success managing timelines, dependencies, and complex technical projects in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  • Ecosystem Understanding: A comprehensive, end-to-end understanding of exchange connectivity, risk limits, clearing systems, and algorithmic trading stacks.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a highly technical quantitative field.
