As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead our technology function and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform and offerings.

Role Overview:

The leader will be responsible for setting and executing the overall technology strategy for Smartworks. This role will lead engineering, business technology, and product teams to build scalable, secure, and innovative solutions that align with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technology Strategy & Vision

Define and lead the company's technology vision and long-term roadmap in line with business goals and future scalability.

Identify and implement emerging technologies such as AI/ML, IoT, and data analytics to improve customer experience and operational performance.

Establish strong technical standards, frameworks, and processes to ensure security, stability, and scalability.

2. Product Development & Architecture

Lead product innovation with a founder's mindset, driving rapid conceptualization, development, and launch of new products and platforms.

Bring hands on experience in building and scaling products from the ground up, ideally having launched and grown own ventures.

Architect and oversee resilient, scalable systems leveraging MERN stack, ReactJS, NodeJS, NextJS, and microservices to enable speed, flexibility, and long-term growth.

Ensure seamless integration across platforms while continuously enhancing user experience and supporting new business opportunities.

3. Leadership & Team Building

Manage and build a high performing engineering team with a focus on collaboration, innovation, and delivery excellence.

Define clear performance metrics and KPIs to track progress and achieve product and business milestones.

Lead hiring and talent development initiatives to grow the team's capabilities, including onboarding senior engineering leaders.

4. Business Technology & Operations

Align technology strategy with business operations to enable seamless scalability and efficiency.

Work closely with cross functional teams such as operations, finance, marketing, and sales to design data driven workflows and automation solutions.

Manage and optimize technology investments to maximize ROI and operational performance.

5. Stakeholder Management & Governance

Collaborate with the C-suite leaders to shape long term business strategies enabled by technology.

Ensure compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity, and regulatory requirements.

Represent Smartworks externally as a technology thought leader, building credibility with partners and stakeholders.

Leadership & Strategic Skills:

15 to 20+ years of total experience with at least 5+ years in senior technology leadership roles such as CTO, VP Engineering, or equivalent.

Has had entrepreneurship experience in the past.

Experience scaling high performing technology teams.

Strong business acumen and the ability to align technology with business strategy.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
