Role Description

As Head of Technology, you will own the entire technical vision, architecture, and execution for GrowQR. This is not a

management-only role -- you will be deeply hands-on with architecture decisions, code review, system design, and infrastructure

while also building and leading the engineering team.

You'll inherit a sophisticated, working platform with real users and a bold technical foundation. Your job is to make it bulletproof,

scalable, and ready for the next order of magnitude -- in users, agents, and capabilities.

WHAT YOU'LL WORK WITH

• A distributed platform with multiple autonomous AI microservices, each with its own domain intelligence

• Event-driven messaging infrastructure for real-time agent coordination and data flow

• Real-time voice AI capabilities for live conversational experiences

• A deterministic scoring engine that synthesizes signals from across the platform into explainable metrics

• Modern frontend with real-time WebSocket connectivity to the agent layer

• Cloud-native infrastructure on AWS with containerized services

• A mix of LLM providers, structured prediction frameworks, and custom AI pipelines

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership role (CTO, VP

Engineering, Staff/Principal Engineer, or equivalent)

• Deep, demonstrable experience with distributed systems -- you've designed, built, and operated microservice architectures in production, not just read about them

• Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript -- you can still read, review, and when needed, write production code. You lead by example, not just delegation

• Experience building and scaling AI/ML-powered products with real users -- not just prototypes or proof-of-concepts, but systems that handle production traffic and edge cases

• Proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and leading small engineering teams (3-15 people) that deliver consistently

• Infrastructure experience on AWS or equivalent cloud platforms -- you understand the full stack from compute to networking to security

• Startup DNA -- you've operated with constraints, made pragmatic tradeoffs between speed and quality, and know when to take shortcuts and when to invest in doing it right

• Strong, well-reasoned opinions on software architecture, but the humility to update them when presented with better evidence
