Role Overview
As Head of Tech you will design, build, and secure our cloud-native lending core while meeting stringent RBI requirements. Your mandate spans architecture, information security, reliability, hiring, and roadmap executionturning today's MVP into a platform ready for ten-times growth, all while working shoulder-to-shoulder with the founding team in Surat.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Development
- Architect and code end-to-end lending workflowscustomer onboarding, origination, disbursement, collectionsand expose them through secure, well-documented APIs.
- Integrate seamlessly with credit bureaus, KYC services, banking partners, payment gateways, and Account Aggregator (AA) rails to keep the system future-proof.
Compliance & Security
- Translate RBI IT-governance and data-localisation mandates into platform design from day one.
- Implement role-based access controls, encryption at rest and in transit, audit trails, and privacy-by-design processes, and prepare artefacts for regulatory inspections and audits.
Operations & Reliability
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, automated testing suites, monitoring, alerting, disaster-recovery drills, and an incident-response playbook while managing cloud budgets and ensuring 99.9 % uptime.
Team & Strategy
- Hire, mentor, and retain a high-calibre team across back-end, front-end, and SRE disciplines (initially 515 engineers).
- Maintain a living technology roadmap aligned with product and risk priorities, and provide concise updates to the leadership team and Board.
Must-Have Experience & Skills
- Depth over tenureminimum six years of hands-on engineering in fintech or banking, including at least two in senior technical leadership.
- Direct ownership of platforms compliant with RBI, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, or similar regulations.
- Proven success building and scaling on AWS, GCP, or Azure using infrastructure-as-code, container orchestration, and modern DevSecOps practices.
- Solid grasp of IAM, key management, vulnerability management, and audit preparation.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience with NBFC or regulated lending stacks (micro-finance, personal loans, SME finance).
- Certifications in cloud or information security (e.g., CCSP, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer).
