Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Head of Salesforce Practice to lead a large-scale Salesforce engineering organization supporting US-based and global Investment Banking clients. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for modernizing, scaling, and transforming complex Salesforce platforms, driving innovation, reducing technical debt, and delivering near-zero defect outcomes in testing and production.
The ideal candidate combines deep Salesforce technical expertise, strong investment banking domain exposure, exceptional client-facing capabilities, and modern engineering leadership, including leveraging AI tools across the SDLC to improve velocity, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Leadership & Architecture
- Own architectural direction for enterprise-scale Salesforce implementations across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, and custom platforms.
- Lead customization and advanced engineering using:
- Lightning Web Components (LWC)
- Apex, Triggers, Batch & Queueable Jobs
- Integration patterns (REST, SOAP, Event-driven, Platform Events)
- Drive complete system remodeling and re-architecture to enhance:
- Performance
- Scalability
- Resilience
- Maintainability
- Proactively identify and eliminate technical debt, legacy patterns, and anti-patterns.
Delivery Excellence & Quality Engineering
- Establish engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices across teams.
- Drive development maturity to ensure:
- Minimal defects in SIT/UAT
- Near-zero production defects
- Embed automated testing strategies (unit, integration, regression).
- Enforce strong code quality, security, and compliance controls, especially for regulated banking environments.
Client Engagement & Innovation
- Act as the primary technology advisor for senior client stakeholders (MDs, COOs, Heads of Technology).
- Lead high-impact client interactions including:
- Architecture reviews
- Transformation proposals
- Innovation workshops
- Propose innovative enhancements to existing Salesforce ecosystems, aligned with business outcomes.
- Translate business problems into scalable Salesforce solutions.
People & Practice Leadership
- Lead and manage a large Salesforce organization (50+ resources) including:
- Salesforce Developers
- Salesforce Administrators
- Salesforce DevOps / Release engineers
- Build a high-performance engineering culture focused on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor technical leads and architects; develop next-level leadership within the team.
- Drive team motivation, skill uplift, and retention.
AI-Driven Engineering & Modern SDLC
- Champion the adoption of AI tools across the SDLC, including:
- GitHub Copilot
- Claude Code / similar AI coding assistants
- Apply AI for:
- Faster development velocity
- Improved code quality
- Reduced defects
- Smarter testing and reviews
- Establish AI-enabled engineering workflows while maintaining enterprise governance and compliance.
- Stay current with Salesforce's AI roadmap and best practices.
Hands-on Technical Guidance
- Remain hands-on at a strategic level to:
- Review critical designs and code
- Guide teams through complex implementations
- Resolve high-severity production or architectural challenges
- Act as a technical benchmark and problem solver for the organization.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have
- 15+ years of IT experience with 10+ years in Salesforce engineering
- Strong experience with US-based or global Investment Banking / Financial Services clients
- Deep expertise in:
- LWC, Apex, Triggers
- Salesforce performance optimization
- Large-scale custom Salesforce implementations
- Proven track record of leading 50+ member Salesforce teams
- Strong expertise in Salesforce DevOps, CI/CD, and release management
- Exceptional client-facing communication and presentation skills
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder management
- Ability to motivate, influence, and inspire large engineering teams
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing senior client expectations and C-level discussions
Good to Have
- Experience establishing a Salesforce Center of Excellence (CoE)
- Salesforce Architect / Platform certifications
- Experience with multi-org, multi-region Salesforce landscapes
- Exposure to regulatory and compliance requirements in banking (SOX, data privacy, security)
