Role Overview

As the Head of Study Abroad Sales, you will be responsible for leading, scaling, and optimizing the performance of our sales function. You will manage a team of 50+ sales associates and team leaders, ensuring they meet enrollment targets, deliver exceptional student experiences, and maintain high productivity levels. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, requiring strong operational skills, people management, and a data-driven mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Own and drive the inside sales strategy for the Study Abroad business, aligned with business growth and revenue goals.
  • Build and execute plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual student acquisition targets.
  • Optimize lead allocation, follow-up strategy, and funnel conversion across various regions and student segments.
  • Identify and improve key sales levers including talk time, follow-up cadence, call-to-application and application-to-conversion rates.

Team Management & Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of 50 inside sales associates, including 46 team leads/supervisors.
  • Design and implement training programs to improve product knowledge, objection handling, sales pitch quality, and closing rates.
  • Drive a performance culture through clear KPIs, dashboards, incentive structures, and regular performance reviews.
  • Ensure team productivity and engagement through a mix of data-driven insights, coaching, and recognition.

Process & Funnel Optimization

  • Work closely with marketing, counseling, and product teams to ensure seamless student journeys from inquiry to enrollment.
  • Implement sales tools (CRM, dialers, lead management systems) and processes for better pipeline visibility and efficiency.
  • Monitor sales metrics, forecast accurately, and report regularly to leadership.

Stakeholder & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with marketing to provide feedback on lead quality and campaigns.
  • Coordinate with university relations, visa, and counseling teams for end-to-end support.
  • Play a key role in improving the overall service delivery and NPS by acting as the voice of the student.

Requirements

  • 810 years of total experience, with 5+ years in leading large study abroad sales teams, preferably in edtech, overseas education, or high-velocity B2C domains.
  • Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets through high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of sales CRMs, lead management, and sales automation tools.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and motivational skills.
  • Analytical mindset with comfort in using data to drive decisions and improvements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth, and target-oriented environment.
  • Exposure to the Study Abroad industry or higher education domain is a strong advantage.
