Position: Head Sales & Business Development
Location
Mumbai / Thane (Bhiwandi)
(Pan-India travel and limited international travel required)
Reporting To
Managing Director / CEO
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Revenue Growth
- Define and execute a 23 year Sales & Business Development strategy aligned with organizational growth objectives.
- Own annual revenue targets and monthly/quarterly sales forecasts.
- Build and sustain a minimum 3 sales pipeline against monthly targets.
- Drive revenue growth across product lines:
- Wire mesh mist eliminators
- Vane packs
- Structural packings
- Random packings
2. Key Account Management (EPC / OEM Focus)
- Build and deepen strategic relationships with EPCs, OEMs, and large industrial clients.
- Ensure vendor registrations, technical approvals, and empanelments with key EPCs.
- Lead high-value techno-commercial negotiations and final order closures.
- Act as the single escalation point for strategic and critical accounts.
3. Business Development & Market Expansion
- Identify and penetrate new industries, applications, and geographies.
- Establish and scale export business and international channel partnerships.
- Drive retrofit, shutdown, revamp, and brownfield project opportunities.
- Monitor competitor activity and guide pricing, positioning, and differentiation strategies.
4. Sales Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Recruit, mentor, and manage sales engineers, proposal engineers, and channel partners.
- Define KPIs, conduct regular performance reviews, and ensure accountability.
- Build a process-driven sales culture with strong CRM adoption and forecasting discipline.
- Coach the team on value-based selling, focusing on performance and lifecycle benefits rather than price alone.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with:
- Design & Engineering technical solutioning
- Production & Planning capacity planning and delivery commitments
- Procurement & Finance costing, margins, and credit control
- Ensure seamless order handover, execution alignment, and high customer satisfaction.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Process Engineering
- MBA (Marketing / Sales / Operations) Preferred
Experience
- 1012 years of experience in industrial / engineered products sales
- 57 years in a leadership role (Sales Head / Regional Head / BD Head)
- Strong exposure to:
- EPC / project-based sales
- Process equipment, column internals, mass transfer or separation equipment
- Proven success in scaling revenue within an SME manufacturing environment
Technical & Commercial Competencies
- Strong understanding of column internals and mass transfer equipment
- Deep knowledge of the EPC project lifecycle
- Expertise in techno-commercial proposals and contract negotiations
- Strong closure skills with the ability to sell value and performance
- Hands-on experience with CRM systems and sales analytics
