Job Description:
1. Sales & Revenue Growth
Drive overall sales performance of all retail stores to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
Optimize store productivity metrics sales per sq. ft., average transaction value, units per transaction, and footfall conversion.
Monitor and ensure achievement of like-to-like growth across stores.
Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and product mix optimization.
2. Retail Operations Management
Ensure smooth functioning of day-to-day store operations across all locations.
Standardize and enforce SOPs for store operations, cash handling, stock management, and visual merchandising.
Implement inventory planning and stock allocation strategies to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
Monitor shrinkage and pilferage levels and ensure corrective measures are in place.
3. Customer Experience & Brand Excellence
Ensure best customer experience through training and service quality.
Maintain visual merchandising standards aligned with brand identity.
Drive customer engagement programs, loyalty initiatives, and feedback mechanisms.
Handle escalated customer issues and ensure quick resolutions to protect brand reputation.
4. People Management & Leadership
Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing retail team including regional managers, store managers, and floor staff.
Define KPIs for the retail team and track performance through regular reviews.
Drive training programs for sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer service.
Foster a performance-driven culture through recognition, rewards, and employee engagement.
5. Retail Expansion & Business Development
Identify new retail locations based on market research and business potential.
Lead end-to-end store launch process site selection, negotiations, setup, and opening.
Partner with mall management and landlords for store placements and promotions.
Drive retail channel profitability by balancing expansion with efficiency.
6. Financial & Budgetary Control
Manage P&L for retail business, ensuring profitability and cost optimization.
Prepare and monitor annual retail budgets, including sales, expenses, and manpower costs.
Work with finance to track ROI on retail investments.
Negotiate and manage vendor contracts and service providers.
7. Marketing & Promotions
Collaborate with marketing to design and execute retail-specific campaigns, seasonal promotions,and activations.
Monitor impact of campaigns on footfalls and conversions.
Ensure local marketing initiatives are aligned with brand strategy.
8. Reporting & Insights
Provide weekly/monthly MIS reports on retail performance, KPIs, and business insights to leadership.
Track competitor activities, market trends, and consumer preferences to refine strategy.
Suggest strategic interventions to increase competitiveness and profitability.
