Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Head of Quality – Consumer Products to establish and lead the end-to-end quality function for a fast-growing consumer brand. The role will be responsible for ensuring superior product quality, minimizing customer complaints and returns, and building scalable quality processes across sourcing, manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, and customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) function from the ground up.
  • Develop quality standards, SOPs, inspection frameworks, and compliance processes across the product lifecycle.
  • Analyze customer complaints, product returns, and defect trends to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Establish vendor quality management programs, including audits, scorecards, and performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with Product, Sourcing, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Experience teams to improve product consistency and customer satisfaction.
  • Create quality checkpoints at manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, and dispatch stages.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce return rates, product defects, and quality-related customer issues.
  • Build quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting systems for leadership reviews.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing quality team.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry, safety, and regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Product Quality, or Manufacturing Quality.
  • Strong experience in consumer products, home & kitchen products, furniture, lifestyle products, retail, D2C brands, or FMCG.
  • Demonstrated success in reducing product defects, returns, and customer complaints.
  • Experience setting up quality systems, processes, and teams.
  • Strong knowledge of quality audits, CAPA, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
