Job Description
A regional leadership role accountable for safe, reliable and commercially disciplined project delivery, while building the teams, standards and implementation capability to support CHINT's growth across Asia Pacific.
The Opportunity
You will lead CHINT APAC's project management function and regional Project Management Office (PMO), overseeing execution from order handover through manufacturing, delivery, site works, commissioning, customer acceptance and aftersales. You will lead and develop country project managers, working with country leaders, engineering, factories, supply chain, quality, EHS and service teams to deliver CHINT's contracted scope.
The portfolio spans data centres, utilities, renewables, industrial and infrastructure projects, including switchgear, transformers, substations, power train units (PTUs), skids and containerised electrical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Regional PMO and team development
- Define and implement the APAC project delivery model, with clear responsibilities, project reviews, approval gates, reporting standards and escalation routes across countries.
- Lead, coach and assess local project managers; build capability in planning, contract management, site delivery and customer communication, with country leadership alignment.
- Plan regional resource coverage and develop project, commissioning and service capacity. Take direct leadership of selected projects where scale, complexity or local resource needs require it.
Project execution and commercial control
- Review delivery assumptions during bids and ensure disciplined sales-to-project handover, with agreed scope, schedules, budgets, resources, responsibilities and acceptance criteria.
- Drive coordinated execution across engineering, factories, procurement, logistics and country teams; track critical milestones and interfaces, and lead recovery actions for delivery risks.
- Control project budgets, cost-to-complete forecasts, margins, variations and claims with commercial and finance teams; ensure timely billing milestones, documentation and collection support.
Site delivery, commissioning and customer acceptance
- Ensure site readiness, installation planning and contractor coordination, with qualified resources, clear work interfaces and controlled schedules for CHINT's scope.
- Oversee factory and site acceptance tests (FAT/SAT), integrated testing and energisation readiness with qualified specialists, securing agreed test evidence and approvals.
- Lead customer delivery reviews and escalations; resolve execution issues and secure punch-list closure, operating manuals, training, handover documentation and final acceptance.
EHS and quality leadership
- Embed environmental, health and safety (EHS) requirements into project planning and site execution with country leaders and EHS specialists, meeting local and customer requirements.
- Ensure risk assessments, work methods, permits, contractor competence and site supervision are in place. Reinforce stop-work authority and drive incident investigation and corrective action.
- Set project quality plans, inspection and test requirements, and hold points with quality and engineering teams; close non-conformances and prevent recurring defects.
Aftersales and continuous improvement
- Lead regional aftersales delivery with country and factory service teams, ensuring clear ownership of warranty issues, service response, defect rectification and customer closure.
- Develop service capability and qualified partner coverage, including spare parts planning, maintenance support and escalation arrangements aligned with customer commitments.
- Use project and service performance, customer feedback and lessons learned to improve delivery methods, factory quality, commissioning practices and regional capability.
What You Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with substantial experience delivering electrical equipment, power systems or integrated infrastructure projects; PMP or equivalent certification is an advantage.
- Typically 15+ years of relevant experience, including senior project management or PMO leadership and responsibility for teams and multiple projects across countries.
- Proven delivery experience with switchgear, transformers, substations or modular electrical solutions, covering manufacturing, site installation, testing, commissioning and customer handover; data centre experience is highly valued.
- Strong commercial judgement in project financials, contracts, variations, claims and risk management, with a record of protecting delivery commitments and project profitability.
- Demonstrated ability to build and coach teams, establish practical delivery standards, lead EHS and quality performance, and resolve complex customer and cross-functional issues.
- Strong English communication; Mandarin is an advantage for factory collaboration. Willingness to travel across APAC and to factories and project sites according to business needs.
Measures of Success
- Safe delivery, timely customer acceptance, controlled project costs and margins, reliable forecasts and achievement of billing milestones.
- Effective warranty and service resolution, satisfied customers, stronger local project teams and consistent adoption of regional delivery standards.
Why This Role
