Job Description

Job Title: Head of Programme (International Curriculum)

Location: Ansal Sushant Golf City, Lucknow

The Head of Programme International Curriculum is responsible for the effective leadership, management, and delivery of the IB programme(s) in alignment with IB philosophy, standards, and practices. The role ensures high-quality teaching and learning, curriculum coherence, faculty development, and compliance with IB authorization and evaluation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership for the IB programme.
  • Ensure curriculum planning, implementation, and review align with IB standards and practices.
  • Promote inquiry-based learning, international-mindedness, and student-centered pedagogy.
  • Lead curriculum mapping, assessment practices, and moderation processes.

Programme Management

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the IB programme.
  • Ensure compliance with IB authorization, evaluation, and accreditation requirements.
  • Coordinate IB documentation, reporting, and communication with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).
  • Manage timetabling, subject offerings, and academic policies related to the programme.

Faculty Leadership & Development

  • Mentor, support, and appraise IB teaching staff.
  • Identify professional development needs and ensure staff participation in IB workshops and training.
  • Foster a collaborative culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement.
  • Support recruitment and induction of IB faculty.

Student Support & Achievement

  • Monitor student progress, well-being, and academic outcomes.
  • Guide students on subject choices, assessments, and IB requirements.
  • Support implementation of core components such as TOK, CAS, Extended Essay (for DP).

Parent & Community Engagement

  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding IB philosophy, curriculum, and student progress.
  • Conduct parent orientations, workshops, and information sessions.
  • Collaborate with school leadership to strengthen the school's IB identity in the local and international community.

School Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Principal and leadership team to align IB programmes with the school's vision and mission.
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement planning and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure smooth articulation between IB and other curricula (if applicable).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Master's degree in Education or a relevant subject.
  • IB teaching and leadership experience (minimum 57 years preferred).
  • IB Programme Coordinator or leadership training certification.
  • Strong knowledge of IB curriculum frameworks and assessment practices.
  • Experience in an IB World School in India or internationally.
  • Experience leading IB authorization or evaluation processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strategic planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to inspire and mentor educators
