Company Description

Carbon Circle builds, owns and operates Renewable Natural Gas (also known as CBG) projects in India. These facilities convert organic matter in agricultural residues, industrial wastes, energy crops into biogas which is then upgraded to RNG.

RNG is a green alternative for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG), and hence decarbonizes transportation and heating (industrial, domestic) applications. Organic manure is a byproduct from our facilities.

Our first plant is operational in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh since August 2024. Our 2nd and 3rd projects are currently under development in Bareilly and Shahjahanpur.

About the Founder

Guru Inder has a history of picking up ideas early and fast rollouts eg. Rooftop Solar, Open Access, EV. He was the Founder & ex - COO of Amplus Solar, which is one of the largest C&I renewable energy platforms in Asia. After exiting Amplus Solar to Petronas, an oil & gas major, Guru Inder founded Carbon Circle in 2022.

The current opening is for Carbon Circle&aposs RNG plant in Richha (Baheri), District Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Production Head (B.Tech Chemical Engineering or related discipline) to lead operations at our Compressed Biogas (CBG) facility. The Production Head will be responsible for overall digester performance, gas yield, upgrading quality, and laboratory.

Qualifications

• B.Tech Chemical Engineering (preferred); alternatively Biotechnology with plant ops experience.
• 710 years of experience in biogas, wastewater, distillery, fertilizer, or chemical process industries.
• Strong knowledge of anaerobic digestion, process controls, utilities, and lab integration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations & Production

• Ensure smooth operation of digesters, upgrading units, compressors, and utilities.
• Monitor daily gas production vs. feed input; optimize feedstock ratios and feeding cycles.
• Troubleshoot operational issues (foaming, low methane %, equipment trips).
• Ensure timely preventive maintenance with O&M team.
• Plan annual feedstock requirement based on availability of various feedstocks

2. Process Control & Lab Supervision

• Review lab data (VOA/TIC, NH-N, pH, gas composition) and use results for process decisions.
• Oversee the Lead Lab and microbiology staff; ensure accurate, reliable lab reporting.
• Approve nutrient dosing, trace element additions, and feedstock corrections based on lab and field data.

3. Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with statutory norms, including environmental norms.
• Oversee safe handling of feedstock, digestate, and biogas (including HS management).
• Lead safety drills, SOP implementation, and emergency response.

4. Team Leadership

• Manage shift engineers, operators, and lab staff.
• Conduct regular review meetings; ensure coordination between lab, operations, and maintenance.
• Train staff in SOPs, safety, and process best practices.

5. Reporting & MIS

• Submit daily and monthly production reports (gas yield, plant availability, methane %).
• Report on energy balance, specific gas yield per tonne of feedstock, and cost drivers.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical and analytical skills (digester biology + plant operations).
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams (lab, operations).
• Proficiency with Excel, process monitoring software, ERP.
• Safety-oriented mindset.
