A leading and long-established textile manufacturer in East Africa is entering an exciting

new phase of growth and transformation. With over four decades of heritage and a fully

integrated manufacturing setup, the company serves a diverse customer base across East

and Southern Africa with high-quality finished textile products. To support its next chapter

of scale and operational excellence, the organization is seeking a forward-looking, impact-

driven Head of Production to lead its manufacturing function.

Position Overview

The Head of Production will be responsible for overseeing and aligning all production

activities across Spinning, Weaving, Dyeing, Knitting, and Finishing. This role is both

strategic and operational — ensuring delivery on output, cost efficiency, and quality, while

also building leadership capability, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and driving

continuous improvement. The Head of Production will report directly to the CEO and serve

as a key member of the company's senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide strategic and operational leadership across all production units to meet output,

cost, and quality targets.

- Strengthen production planning and inter-department coordination to ensure timely and

reliable customer fulfilment.

- Build leadership depth by developing and mentoring department heads, ensuring each

unit has a strong second-line of leadership.

- Introduce and institutionalize structured performance management systems across

production departments.

- Lead capital investment projects from concept and feasibility to implementation — aligned

to company strategy and growth objectives.

- Promote lean manufacturing, operational discipline, and a culture of continuous

improvement across all processes.

- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Business Development, Operations, and Finance

to deliver integrated business goals.

- Foster a safe, compliant, and well-maintained working environment across the factory.

- Use data, systems, and structured reviews to drive transparency, accountability, and

decision-making.

Candidate Profile

- 10+ years of experience in senior production/manufacturing leadership roles, preferably

within the textile industry.

- Strong preference for experience in vertically integrated operations covering multiple

production processes.

- Proven ability to develop teams, build structures, and lead operational transformation at

scale.

- Strategic thinker with strong execution capability and understanding of business-finance

linkages.

- Comfortable with systems, data, and structured performance management environments.

- High standards, a collaborative approach, and the ability to adapt across cultures and

teams.

- Fluency in English is required; experience working in multicultural settings is preferred.
