Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Head Plastic Sourcing to lead strategic sourcing, supplier development, and procurement operations for plastic raw materials and related components. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in polymer markets, vendor negotiation, cost optimization, and supply chain risk management within the plastics or manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement
- Develop and execute procurement strategies for plastic raw materials such as PP, PE, PET, PVC, ABS, HDPE, LDPE, and other polymer-based inputs.
- Analyze global and domestic polymer market trends to optimize sourcing decisions and pricing strategies.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, long-term contracts, and supplier consolidation.
Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers for plastic resins and related materials.
- Build long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews on quality, pricing, delivery timelines, and compliance.
Negotiation & Contracting
- Lead commercial negotiations for pricing, credit terms, delivery schedules, and contracts.
- Secure favorable terms while maintaining supply continuity and quality standards.
Supply Chain Coordination
- Collaborate with production, planning, and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
- Manage inventory levels and forecast demand for plastic materials.
- Mitigate supply risks and manage alternative sourcing strategies.
Cost & Budget Control
- Monitor procurement budgets and material cost trends.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure procurement processes comply with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with QA/QC teams to ensure supplier quality standards.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the procurement team.
- Implement procurement best practices and digital tools.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Materials Management / Business Administration.
- MBA or PG Diploma in Supply Chain or Procurement preferred.
Experience Requirements
- 10+ years of procurement experience, with significant exposure to plastic raw materials or polymer sourcing.
- Experience in manufacturing, packaging, injection molding, or plastic processing industries preferred.
- Strong network with polymer suppliers and distributors.
