Purpose:
To lead and manage the procurement function for Capex for manufacturing operations and setting up of industrial projects, ensuring timely availability of plant and equipments, materials, services and contracts at optimum cost, quality and delivery standards while maintaining statutory and commercial compliance. The role is responsible for strategic sourcing, vendor development, contract management, project related procurements and procurement governance.
Areas Of Responsibility:
1.Vendor and contract management
• Identify, evaluate, onboard and develop reliable vendors and contractors
• Conduct vendor audits, capability assessments and performance reviews
• Maintain approved vendor lists and vendor rating systems
• Develop alternate sourcing channels to mitigate supply chain risks
• Ensure ethical procurement practices and supplier compliance
• Lead techno commercial negotiations and finalisation of contracts and purchase orders.
• Ensure contract compliance and resolution of supplier disputes/claims
2.Commercial and cost control
• Lead tendering, bid evaluation and purchase order processes
• Negotiations, payment terms, warranties, penalties, contractual obligations, review and finalise procurement contracts in coordination with legal and finance teams
• Ensure compliance with taxation, statutory, import export and commercial regulations
• Achieve procurement budget targets
• Analyse market trends, commodity pricing and supply chain risks
• Ensure effective cost benchmarking and competitive bidding processes
• Optimise total procurement cost including logistics and life cycle cost considerations
3.Coordination and stakeholder management
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, projects, finance, QA QC, stores and logistics and legal teams
• Participate in management reviews and strategic planning discussions
4.Compliance and governance
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and statutory requirements
• Maintain proper documentation, audit readiness and procurement records
• Ensure ethical procurement practices and transparency in vendor dealings
Education:
Relevant Experience:
•Experience - 10 to 15 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management
•Significant experience in manufacturing industries, industrial projects, EPC infrastructure projects
•Capex procurement
•Contract management
•Experience in handling large procurement budgets and multi location operations preferred
