Overview of The Role:
Greaves Electric Mobility is at the forefront of India's rapidly evolving electric mobility landscape, driving innovation across electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and last-mile mobility solutions.
As the Head of Procurement & Sourcing, you will architect and lead a future-ready, resilient, and cost-competitive supply ecosystem, ensuring seamless support for aggressive growth, product innovation, and localization goals.
This is a mission-critical leadership role with end-to-end ownership of sourcing strategy, supplier partnerships, cost leadership, and supply risk management.
Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Define and execute a long-term procurement & sourcing strategy aligned with business growth, product roadmap, and localization targets
- Build a best-in-class sourcing organization capable of scaling with evolving EV demand
- Drive should-costing, value engineering, and total cost of ownership (TCO) frameworks
Supplier Ecosystem Development
- Identify, onboard, and develop strategic supplier partnerships across EV-critical components:
- Batteries (Cell, BMS)
- Powertrain (Motor, Controller)
- Electronics & Semiconductors
- Chassis & Mechanical systems
- Strengthen dual sourcing and supplier diversification to de-risk supply chains
- Lead global sourcing initiatives where required
Cost Optimization & Value Engineering
- Deliver sustained cost reduction targets through:
- Negotiation excellence
- Design-to-cost and localization programs
- Volume leverage and contract optimization
- Collaborate with engineering teams on early supplier involvement (ESI)
Supply Chain Risk & Continuity Management
- Build robust mechanisms for:
- Supplier risk assessment
- Supply continuity planning
- Inventory optimization
- Proactively mitigate risks related to:
- Commodity volatility
- Geopolitical dependencies
- EV-specific supply constraints (cells, chips)
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with:
- R&D / Product Engineering
- Manufacturing & Operations
- Quality & Supplier Development
- Finance
- Ensure procurement is embedded early in product lifecycle decisions
Governance & Compliance
- Establish strong procurement governance frameworks, policies, and controls
Ensure adherence to:
- Quality standards
- ESG and sustainability goals
- Ethical sourcing practices
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Build and lead a high-performance procurement organization
- Drive capability in:
- Strategic sourcing

Experience
15–20+ years in procurement/sourcing within:
- Automotive / EV / Auto Components / Manufacturing
- Proven track record of leading large-scale procurement transformations
- Deep exposure to EV ecosystem sourcing (battery, electronics, powertrain preferred)
