Job Description

Job Summary

The Operations head supports and partners with the Chief operating officer to oversee the day-to-day functioning of the organization. This role is designed for a strategic, hands-on leader who can both execute operational priorities and step in as acting director when required.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Leadership Support

  • Assist the COO in developing and implementing operational strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Act as a trusted deputy, representing the COO in meetings, negotiations, and cross-functional forums.
  • Lead or co-lead strategic initiatives and transformation projects on behalf of the COO.

Day-to-Day Operations

  • Oversee operational workflows across departments to ensure efficiency, quality, and compliance.
  • Monitor KPIs and operational metrics, producing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify bottlenecks, risks, and inefficiencies and drive resolution proactively.

People & Team Management

  • Supervise and mentor operational team leaders and staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and communication.

Budget & Resources

  • Assist in preparing and managing operational budgets, tracking expenditure against targets.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service delivery.

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and partners on operational matters.
  • Prepare briefings, presentations, and correspondence on behalf of the COO .

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 12–18 years of progressive experience in operations or a related function, with at least 2–3 years in a management role.
  • Proven track record of managing complex operational processes and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with budget management and resource planning.
  • Experience in multi plant handling and ready to work in a matrix organization

  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High proficiency in operational tools, ERP systems, and data reporting.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Discretion and sound judgement when acting on behalf of senior leadership.
