About the Role
iion is seeking a pro-active and technical programmatic operations leader to take on a significant scale-up challenge. The Head of Marketplace Operations is responsible for all programmatic demand and supply operations across the iion programmatic exchange. This role is pivotal to ensuring iion's exchange is technically world-class. You'll lead marketplace operations globally, guiding the optimization of demand and publisher integrations, while ensuring we scale seamlessly as the leader in game advertising.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Your mandate is to drive success across four critical pillars: strategic leadership, technical execution, operational scaling, and marketplace innovation.
Marketplace Leadership
- Lead a global team of marketplace technical and ad-ops specialists
- Define and own the frameworks for demand & supply integrations across all environments (web, mobile, SDK, CTV)
- Champion programmatic deal implementation across PMP, PG, and auction packages, ensuring seamless setup, delivery, and yield optimization
- Drive operational excellence, ensuring the quality, compliance, and scalability of the exchange
- Lead the evaluation, onboarding, and technical implementation of data, audience, and measurement partners to enhance targeting, insights, and marketplace performance
Technical Excellence
- Oversee and optimize integrations across Prebid, GAM, SDKs, CTV, and mobile mediation partners
- Test and validate proprietary tech, feeding insights into product development
Operational Efficiency
- Build and optimize internal processes for scaling supply and demand
- Troubleshoot complex issues quickly, proactively identifying risks before they impact revenue
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Publisher Success, Curation, and Campaign
- Management to ensure publisher and advertiser performance
Innovation & Strategy
- Stay ahead of evolving industry standards (IAB Tech Lab, Prebid updates, privacy regulations).
- Advise senior management on marketplace strategy and technical opportunities.
- Train and mentor team members, ensuring continuous growth in technical expertise
- Develop frameworks that enable brands and agencies to activate programmatic strategiesPMPs, PG, auction packagesusing advanced audience segmentation and contextual or behavioral signals
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- 7+ years in programmatic operations, with at least 3 in leadership
- Deep technical expertise across RTB, Prebid, GAM, SDKs, CTV AdServers, and mobile mediation
- Strong grasp of two-sided marketplaces and the mechanics of scaling an exchange
- Proven ability to build and optimize operations frameworks that scale globally
- Deep understanding of programmatic brand activation across major DSPs, including deal setup, audience targeting workflows, optimization levers, and campaign diagnostics
- Demonstrated experience collaborating directly with agencies and brand teams to support campaign planning, audience strategy, troubleshooting, and performance enhancement
- Proven track record implementing and managing third-party data or audience vendors (DMPs/CDPs, measurement partners, attribution/attention providers) within an ad tech or exchange ecosystem
- Strong client facing communication skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote-first, and pioneering global environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is a requirement
