Role Overview
The Head – Logistics will be responsible for leading end-to-end logistics, trade compliance, and EXIM operations for the organisation. The role will drive efficient import/export processes, ensure regulatory compliance, optimise costs, and enable seamless supply chain execution aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Trade Compliance & EXIM Operations
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including Customs, DGFT, DRI, and EXIM policies
- Monitor and interpret regulatory changes and ensure adherence across operations
- Manage EPCG, Advance Authorisation, Duty Drawback, refunds, and related schemes
Import / Export & Customs Clearance
- Lead end-to-end import/export operations across air, sea (LCL/FCL), and courier shipments
- Ensure timely clearance within defined lead times
- Handle documentation, audits, and post-clearance queries
Freight & Logistics Management
- Oversee inbound/outbound logistics including air and ocean freight
- Coordinate with CHA, shipping lines, freight forwarders, and transporters
- Manage HSS transactions and ensure correct HSN classification, tariff codes, and duty structures
Commercial & Cost Optimization
- Negotiate contracts, freight rates, and vendor agreements
- Monitor logistics budgets and drive cost optimization initiatives
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvement across the supply chain
Performance & Analytics
- Track key logistics KPIs (TAT, cost per shipment, clearance timelines, etc.)
- Leverage data analytics for decision-making and continuous improvement
- Build dashboards and reporting mechanisms for leadership review
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Procurement, Sales, Production, and Finance teams
- Align logistics strategies with overall business and project timelines
Systems & Process Excellence
- Drive usage of ERP and digital tools such as SAP, Ariba, MS Office
- Standardize processes and ensure documentation accuracy
- Strengthen internal controls and audit readiness
Issue Resolution & Risk Management
- Proactively manage shipment disruptions and escalations
- Ensure business continuity in case of logistics challenges
- Address customer/vendor issues effectively
Key Competencies
- Strong expertise in EXIM, customs, and trade compliance
- Deep understanding of INCOTERMS, HSN codes, and duty structures
- Negotiation and vendor management skills
- Strategic thinking with strong execution capability
- Data-driven decision-making

- Experience in renewables / EPC / manufacturing / industrial sectors
- Exposure to large-scale, multi-location logistics operations
