To partner with us in this exciting journey and unlock new values for the business, we are looking for passionate professionals for the position Head Legal, Vedanta Jharsuguda.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Handling cases of Civil/ Industrial/ Commercial/ Criminal/ Environmental/ Mining/ Labour/ Property & Land Law matters and also need to handle vendors and third-party supplier's dispute
  • Work closely with the external counsels, Solicitors firms, state and central authorities to achieve optimal solutions and contribution to business
  • Ensure Compliance of statutory requirements under various Acts, especially Environmental laws, mining laws, Industrial laws, labour Laws and Tax statutes
  • Drafting & vetting of MoU's, Lol's, contracts/ agreements, pleadings, affidavits and other legal documentation(s)
  • Rendering legal opinion/advice and independent handling of various matters related to labour dispute, Property disputes and various other functions & Commercial disputes, recovery actions by engagement of Counsels & briefing them
  • Reduce and optimise legal expenses and generate new Ideas resulting in P&L gains
  • Promote business initiatives through strategic and operational legal and land support
  • Effective Litigation management, partnering with business goals and taking initiatives like litigation reduction
  • Organize training on all applicable Laws and Policies to increase regulatory awareness
  • Develop second line of command at Unit level by identifying and grooming high potential and high-performance individuals

Desired Skills:

  • Graduate in LL.B with 16-20 years of experience
  • Exhaustive knowledge of Power Sector and Regulations
  • Superior Leadership, managerial and mentoring skills
  • Good Business acumen with self-motivation skill
