Role Description The Head of Legal Department is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for overseeing all legal activities for Oraiyan Groups. This role includes managing legal compliance for real estate transactions, drafting and reviewing contracts, sale deeds, and related documentation, and ensuring that all properties are legally verified and aligned with local regulations. The Head of Legal will provide legal consulting to management and operational teams, advise on risk mitigation, and handle legal issues such as disputes, claims, and regulatory queries. The role also involves developing and implementing legal policies and procedures, coordinating with external legal counsel, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of applicable real estate and corporate laws. The Head of Legal will collaborate closely with sales, operations, and finance teams to support business decisions and protect the organization's interests.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Law, particularly real estate, property, and corporate law, with the ability to interpret and apply relevant statutes and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in Legal Compliance, including ensuring adherence to local, state, and national real estate and business regulations.
- Proficiency in Legal Consulting and advising senior leadership on legal risks, contract terms, and strategic decisions.
- Hands-on experience in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and property-related documents.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve Legal Issues, including disputes, litigation risks, and regulatory matters.
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) required; LL.M or equivalent advanced legal qualification is an advantage.
- Prior experience leading a legal team or department, preferably within real estate, property development, or related sectors.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with strong attention to detail and integrity in decision-making.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Kannada or other local languages in Bengaluru is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site, collaborate cross-functionally, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
