JOB PURPOSE / SUMMARY
The Head – IT serves as the organization's senior-most technology leader, accountable for defining and executing the enterprise-wide IT strategy, digital transformation roadmap, and technology governance framework. This role provides strategic direction across all dimensions of information technology – from enterprise architecture and cybersecurity governance to cloud operations, ERP stewardship, Business Critical Applications, IoT innovation, and multi-location infrastructure oversight.
The position ensures that technology investments are aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and long-term growth plans while maintaining a cost-prudent, audit-ready, and resilient IT environment. As the apex of the IT function, the Head – IT translates organizational priorities into actionable technology programs, leads a structured team of IT professionals, and serves as the primary technology partner to the executive leadership.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (mandatory).
- Master's degree in IT Management, Business Administration (MBA with Technology focus), or a related post-graduate qualification (strongly preferred).
- Professional certifications in one or more of the following areas (preferred):
- Enterprise Architecture: TOGAF or equivalent
- Cloud Governance: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional / Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Cybersecurity: CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) / CISSP
- IT Service Management: ITIL v4 Foundation or above
- Project & Programme Management: PMP / Prince2
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 15+ years of progressive IT experience with a minimum of 4–5 years in a senior IT leadership role (IT Head, IT Director, or equivalent) with full budget lifecycle accountability.
- Proven track record of defining and executing IT strategy in a multi-location, operations-intensive organization – preferably in aviation, logistics, transportation, or allied sectors.
- Deep experience in enterprise application governance including ERP platforms (Microsoft Business Central or equivalent), cloud environments (Azure / AWS), and integrated SaaS ecosystems.
- Demonstrated expertise in cybersecurity governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance – including experience managing security audits and incident response.
- Hands-on strategic exposure to IoT architecture, digital transformation programs, or technology innovation initiatives.
- Experience managing full-cycle vendor relationships for enterprise-scale contracts including cloud services, managed security, hardware/software, and system integrators.
- Track record of building and leading high-performing IT teams across multi-location environments.
- Familiarity with aviation-sector regulatory norms (DGCA, airport authority requirements) and safety-critical IT environments is a significant advantage.
