We are looking for a senior IT & Digital Transformation leader for our Durgapur manufacturing operations.
Role Summary
The Head – IT & Digital Transformation will lead technology, ERP, data, plant systems, automation-support, and digital initiatives at the Durgapur plant.
The role will work closely with plant leadership, corporate teams, implementation partners, consultants, and technology vendors to drive structured technology adoption across production, maintenance, quality, stores, dispatch, finance, HR, and plant administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead IT, ERP, and digital transformation initiatives for the Durgapur plant.
- Support SAP implementation, integration, and user adoption across plant functions.
- Strengthen digital workflows, reporting systems, dashboards, and process discipline.
- Enable better visibility of plant KPIs including production, downtime, yield, quality, inventory, energy, maintenance, and dispatch.
- Coordinate with automation, electrical, instrumentation, and operations teams for plant data capture and system integration.
- Support Industry 4.0 initiatives, including machine data, analytics, alerts, dashboards, and decision-support tools.
- Improve IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, access control, backups, hardware reliability, and plant-level support systems.
- Work with SAP partners, software vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders for successful technology implementation.
- Train and support plant users to ensure smooth adoption of new systems.
- Create and maintain SOPs, digital workflows, access controls, reporting formats, and escalation mechanisms.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 12–20 years of experience in IT, ERP, plant systems, automation support, or digital transformation in a manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in steel plant environments is strongly preferred, especially across SMS, rolling mills, billets, TMT/rebar manufacturing, and related plant operations.
- Strong understanding of SAP or other major ERP systems.
- Experience in plant-level IT implementation, user adoption, process digitization, and change management.
- Exposure to Industry 4.0, IoT, MES, SCADA, automation data, BI tools, analytics, or digital dashboards will be an advantage.
- Ability to work closely with plant teams, corporate leadership, consultants, and technology partners.
- Hands-on, structured, disciplined, and comfortable spending time on the shop floor.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, plant reporting, and operational KPIs.
