Position Title: Head of Future Student Recruitment – UNSW Bengaluru
Reports To: Director of Marketing and Recruitment

Position Summary
The Head of Future Student Recruitment is accountable for shaping and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment and conversion outcomes for UNSW Bengaluru, executing student recruitment strategies and operational plans to achieve enrolment targets across priority cohorts. Operating within UNSW Sydney's global brand, marketing, and student recruitment governance frameworks, the role leads end-to-end student recruitment pipeline delivery across the student lifecycle, ensuring all activity is aligned to defined playbooks, compliance requirements, and performance expectations.
The role focuses on building scalable student recruitment capability, strengthening conversion performance, and overseeing high-touch engagement and enquiry management activities, including management of external student enquiry service provider, to ensure consistent, high-quality student experiences and achievement of student recruitment outcomes. Working within a matrixed global environment, the position partners with UNSW Bengaluru and UNSW Sydney stakeholders to deliver coordinated, data-informed student recruitment activity aligned to evolving market conditions, regulatory requirements, and institutional priorities.
Accountabilities
Future Student Recruitment Strategy
- Develop and execute the UNSW Bengaluru undergraduate and postgraduate annual student recruitment strategy and lead execution of student recruitment and conversion plans, aligned to campus growth objectives and commencement targets, and in partnership with UNSW Sydney.
- Develop and execute annual student recruitment plans, incorporating events, outreach activity, digital engagement, and relationship‑based conversion activity, aligned to endorsed strategy in consultation with UNSW Sydney.
- Develop and implement scalable recruitment and conversion practices, ensuring alignment with defined playbooks, governance frameworks and guardrails.
Conversion, Sales & Customer Experience
- Drive conversion performance through high‑touch, personalised engagement across key stages of student recruitment lifecycle, including pre‑ and post‑event activity and ongoing prospect management.
- Design, implement, and manage student recruitment processes, systems, and workflows to enable proactive pipeline management and conversion in alignment with defined playbooks.
- Ensure a cohesive and consistent prospective student experience across channels and stages of the student journey.
Enablement, Training & Capability Development
- Implement sales, CRM, product, and compliance enablement programs to build student recruitment staff capability and support effective delivery of student recruitment and conversion activities.
- Drive continuous improvement in student recruitment practice through training, coaching, and process improvement initiatives.
- Embed customer‑focused and commercially effective behaviours across undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment activity, aligned to defined frameworks and performance expectations.
Performance, Insights & Market Intelligence
- Monitor and analyse recruitment and conversion performance against agreed targets, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Indian undergraduate and postgraduate market, competitor activity, and emerging recruitment trends.
- Provide structured insights and recommendations to inform student recruitment planning, outreach activity, and program development.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with UNSW Bengaluru leadership, faculties, admissions, marketing, and digital teams to ensure alignment of undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment activity, in line with agreed targets and priorities.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships across professional and academic stakeholders to support delivery of recruitment and conversion outcomes.
- Operate within a matrixed global environment, collaborate with Sydney-based marketing, digital, and student recruitment teams to ensure alignment to global frameworks and knowledge transfer.
- Provide insights, reporting, and recommendations to support informed decision‑making and continuous improvement.
Financial, Governance & Risk Management
- Plan and manage recruitment activity within approved budgets, ensuring appropriate tracking of expenditure and return on investment.
- Ensure all student recruitment practices comply with applicable regulatory, privacy, and ethical requirements, maintain audit-ready documentation and records. .
- Identify and manage operational and reputational risks associated with recruitment and conversion activity, escalating issues as required.

Essential
Skills & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification with extensive experience in recruitment/sales, marketing, or product strategy, or equivalent competence gained through education, training, or experience.
- Demonstrated success delivering student recruitment and conversion outcomes in a target‑driven, customer‑focused and prestige brand environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing pipelines, conversion performance, and return on investment.
- Proven recruitment leadership experience, including people leadership, designing and delivering sales enablement, training, and process improvement initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
Desirable
- Experience working in higher education or similarly complex, regulated environments.
- Experience leading recruitment or sales activity across multiple cohorts or markets.
- Strong understanding of CRM platforms, lead management practices, and conversion analytics.
- Experience contributing to organisational growth, transformation, or scale‑up initiatives.
